FDMS3-FS

FDMS3-FS is a FUSE filesystem driver designed for the fostex FDMS-3, which is commonly used by different fostex digital multitrackers such as FD-4 and FD-8. This driver is capable of representing the FDMS filesystem as a range of directories, each of which contains one program or song on the disk. The directories are named in such a way that they can help users to easily locate their files: /mnt/p000-song1, /mnt/p001-song2 and so on.

Within each directory, there are several .WAV files, which represent each track on the program. For example, /mnt/p001-song2/track-0.wav and /mnt/p001-song2/track-1.wav. These .WAV files can be played, mixed or ripped to disk, based on the user's preferences.

To use this software, three main steps are required. Firstly, you can choose to image the hard disk, which is optional. Secondly, you need to mount the filesystem using the command: ./fdmsfs fostex-image.dd /mnt. A simple command, like ls /mnt will show you all of the available programs.
