Freeduc-games

Freeduc-games is a Linux distribution that is modeled on the Freeduc system. However, instead of incorporating education tools, this distribution features a collection of games. The Freeduc system is a Linux distribution that is designed to be run from a CD. It is based on Knoppix and was created by OFSET, a company based in France.

Historically, Linux systems in schools have been perceived as a suitable replacement for proprietary servers. However, in reality, the server is one of the least important components in a school network when it comes to preserving freedom. Instead, it is the workstation software that is essential in upholding freedom and liberty between users in a school.

OFSET recognized this need and subsequently developed Freeduc, a tool that can help schools to identify, evaluate, and package only free - non-GPL exclusive - education software.

Freeduc-games is an extension of this system, and it is meant to provide Linux users with a collection of entertaining games. The design of the system is to make it easy for students to access these games and enhance their leisure time while also promoting the use of free software.
