Frog Bound is an exciting software game in which you guide a lone frog through a maze filled with action-packed explosive traps while being taunted by the maze keeper. You can mostly play the game using arrow keys or change to gamepad on 'settings' from the menu. If using gamepad, the button "shift" is replaced by button 1 and "space" by button 2.
If you die, you can press space to quickly restart the level. 'Shift' triggers the frog's tongue to catch flies in levels with bosses. Once caught, you can press 'shift' again to fire the fly. On platform levels, you press 'shift' to make the frog jump.
You may press 'f2' at any time to restart the game, and 'esc' pauses the game and brings up a small menu where you can quit or restart the level at the cost of one life. Additionally, you can press 'esc' on the menu to quit.
The objective of the game is to complete levels, usually by going to a glowing 'x' or spinning green pad. However, you must always avoid systematic explosions and dangerous electric patterns. Explosions are lethal just 0.05 seconds after they appear, making them very dangerous.
Furthermore, you must watch out for fireballs, lasers, and evil creatures, among other obstacles. Once you complete a set of levels, your game is saved, and you receive a password which you can use if you reinstall the game or play on a different computer. Alternatively, you can click "resume game" on the main menu if you have your named typed in.
Note that if you try out a password or press 'start new game,' your previous save gets deleted. However, clicking 'enter password' will show your current password. Currently, there are 44 checkpoints, but only the first 14 are available in the demo.
