I recently tried out FTP Server software and was impressed with its ability to transfer large files using background threads. The software easily supports PASV mode connection with options to set port ranges and IP addresses, which is ideal when using with firewall NAT NT/2000/XP security integration. I appreciated the logon authentication that is matched against existing accounts for added security.
What really stood out to me was the software's ability to efficiently resume broken downloads. With active users and shadow FTP sessions screens, I was able to easily view client logons by IP addresses. The FTP server runs as a service under the Windows operating system platform.
