This software calculates the sonic velocity (speed of sound) of a gas in a pipe. It is mainly designed for process and chemical engineers to calculate sound velocity of internal substances in pipelines.

To streamline the calculation process, the calculator includes a database that encompasses 51 different gases, along with their molecular weights and respective specific heat ratio, for reference. With this feature, engineers can move through their work with ease and in a timely manner.
The calculator requires only a temperature input to calculate the sonic velocity. This temperature can be specified in Degrees Celsius, Degrees Fahrenheit, Degrees Rankine, or Degrees Kelvin. For users who prefer to work with their own specific heats ratio, they can choose "Other" and input the ratio data directly into the program. It's up to the user to utilize whichever method is most efficient for their needs.
Once the desired inputs are entered, the calculator displays the calculated sonic velocity output in five different units: meters per second, feet per second, inches per second, kilometers per hour, and miles per hour. This diverse set of results accommodates various contexts and scenarios for users.
Overall, this software tool streamlines and optimizes work processes for engineers operating in the process and chemical fields. It serves as a reliable resource for professionals who require quick check calculations while on the job.
