GeltCalc is a fantastic open-source financial calculator compatible with Mac OS X (specifically Tiger only). The goal of this project was to create a unique financial calculator that the developer could not find elsewhere. The developer found that there were numerous calculators available for scientific, programming, or general purposes, but none specifically for Time Value of Money calculations.
GeltCalc fills the gap by providing excellent Time Value of Money calculations for Mac users. While there are some calculators available for loan calculations, nothing quite compares to the usefulness of GeltCalc. Currently, GeltCalc is in beta phase and can only handle simple calculations such as Future Value, Present Value, addition, subtraction, and other four function arithmetic calculations.
The developer aims to continue building on GeltCalc and add other essential features such as Cash Flow calculations and other mathematical functions such as exponents, among others.
