getopt auto

Getopt auto is an incredible software that provides a wrapper for the standard getopt_long() facility. This feature makes life much easier for programmers. With this feature, the software takes a data structure that describes the options. After that, it takes care of the parsing of the values and printing of the help page. Of course, this amazing feature adds additional limits too. However, for most of my quick n' dirty projects, this feature is enough.

When it comes to building the getopt auto, it is quite easy. Since the software is so small, I don't bother making it into a shared library. Instead, I just have to include getopt_auto.h and list getopt_auto.c as a source file when building things that require it. If one wants to work up the autoconf setup to get it to build as a shared library, feel free to do so and send it to me.

Overall, Getopt auto is a brilliant software that has made my programming so much easier. The added feature that takes care of parsing and printing has saved me a lot of time and effort. The ease of building this software as well is an added bonus that I appreciate.
