Effortlessly transform GIF into PNG with our software.
I recently came across a useful software utility called gif2png that I'd like to share my experience with. It's an application that does what it says on the tin - it converts files from the obsolete Graphic Interchange Format to Portable Network Graphics format while preserving all graphic data, including transparency.

One word of caution though. Some older ImageMagick 4.2.x versions have a bug that can make grayscale PNGs appear incorrectly. This can sometimes lead users to think that gif2png is defective. This, however, is not the case - it's only the ImageMagick issue. Fortunately, this bug has been addressed in newer ImageMagick versions. As of version 5.2.2, there should be no further issues.
