GLOBALBASE

GLOBALBASE is a remarkable autonomous distributed GIS software that promises an excellent browsing experience to users, thanks to its unique features. It uses Browser COSMOS for seamless browsing and Server LANDSCAPE for sending requested data to the accessed client. By using GLOBALBASE, users can browse graphically and see the entire Earth, which is actually a group of many maps on a worldwide distributed server. The GUI Earth browser called COSMOS provides a seamless browsing experience across the globe.

GLOBALBASE boasts a different kind of content library as compared to other systems, with old aerial photographs, ancient maps, archeological plans, Dragon Quest 3 world map, and much more. With LANDSCAPE, users can be sure of accessing up-to-date geographical information, and the software sends the requested data to the user's COSMOS.

While GLOBALBASE is an advanced autonomous distributed GIS, its server software LANDSCAPE enables the public to access maps and geographical information using the GLOBALBASE protocol. Working together, these two pieces of software make up the most efficient GIS available in the market.

To install COSMOS, a superuser must log in and create the installation directory, cosmosdir. After that, they need to navigate to the working directory, cosmosdir, and run the cosmos.t following root permission. Once the directory and peripheral files are built, installation is completed. Users can then access the cosmos and cosmos_installer.t files from the bin directory.

To begin using LANDSCAPE, the user must first download the lss.ver.B.XX.XX.linux.x86.tar.gz file and uncompress it. Then, they must install LANDSCAPE using the install.sh script. To update the server version, the user must use the updateB.sh script.
