GMailUI enhances Thunderbird with GMail-inspired features such as archiving and universal folder search for efficient email management.
If you're a big fan of GMail but still rely on Thunderbird for your email needs, the GMailUI extension is definitely worth checking out. This add-on takes inspiration from GMail and brings some of its best features to Thunderbird.
With GMailUI, you'll be able to archive your email messages and search through all of your folders with ease. You can even select a folder to serve as your sole archive folder, or choose to have an archive folder for each of your multiple accounts.
To archive a message, simply select it and type "Y". The message will then be sent to the appropriate archive folder. And if you want to search for specific messages, just type in a query like "from:fred to:tom" to see all messages sent from Fred to Tom in the current view.
What's more, you can even apply this search to all of your folders by pressing Ctrl+Enter. Overall, the GMailUI extension is a great way to bring some of GMail's most useful features to Thunderbird.
To use it, you'll need Thunderbird 0.8 - 1.6 installed on your computer. But if you meet this requirement, you're good to go!
