imsniff

IMSniff is a powerful instant messaging sniffer that operates using pcap, capturing IM traffic within a network. It logs conversations, contact lists, profile information, incoming email notifications, and other MSN events with ease. IMSniff has been tested on both Linux and Windows operating systems, proving its versatility across platforms.

With IMSniff, configuration options are plentiful. Users can configure it using either command line parameters or a configuration file called imsniff.conf. This file can be located in the current directory or in /etc. In order to ensure proper functionality, if the IMSniff executable is renamed, the config file must be renamed as well.
