The client also receives flows from the server and delivers them to IVSD. Parameters such as the IP address of the receiving server, port number, and the real serial port number on the receiver must be specified on the client for each port.
In turn, the server receives information from clients and transfers it to the specified ports. The server also transfers flow from specified ports to the client. TCP/IP provides overhead information about the condition of different signals on physical contacts of the serial port in addition to data flow.
