Initially created as an MP3 player for parties, Julie's design goals were simple. Julie was meant to be easy to use, even when tipsy, by using glue code to make existing tools work together. Julie utilizes simple and clean graphical interfaces, enabling users to perform a text search of songs, which can then be added directly to the playlist. The random selection maintains a level of intelligence, but there is a 'banish' function for those songs you never want to hear again. Additionally, there is a delay within which a song will not be repeated.
