Kovpn

Kovpn is an OpenVPN GUI designed specifically for end-users with a simple interface that fulfills daily requirements. It operates without root privileges and commands the most critical OpenVPN functions, such as connecting/disconnecting, username/password input, private key passphrase input, and display status. Additionally, Kovpn enables multiple OpenVPN connections and securely stores usernames and passwords in Kwallet.

However, some customization is required to the OpenVPN configuration file before using Kovpn; specifically, the management interface must be enabled by appending the following lines- management 127.0.0.1 11194 management-query-passwords management-hold -to the configuration file. To operate Kovpn, users have to provide the host and port settings, preferring localhost/127.0.0.1 as hosts and any unused port, such as 11194.

It's important to note that since Kovpn is relatively new, it may contain bugs, for which users are encouraged to report so that they can be fixed. Kovpn's latest version features changes such as the transition to a new project home, modifications to fix compiler warnings, and compatibility with 64-bit targets.
