This software is a library that is based on GLib and is designed to provide access to APIs of online services.
Libgdata is a software library based on GLib that provides access to online service APIs via the GData protocol. It specifically allows for easy interaction with Google's various services. It's important to note that at this moment, libgdata's API is not yet stable and could change drastically. That said, the installation process is fairly straightforward. To get started, simply navigate to the directory containing the source code and run `./configure` to configure the package for your system. Note that if you're using `csh`, you may need to instead run `sh ./configure` to prevent `csh` from executing `configure` itself.
Running `configure` takes some time, but it will print messages detailing which features it is checking for. Once that's complete, run `make` to compile the package. Optionally, run any self-tests that come with the package by typing `make check`. Finally, install the programs, data files, and documentation by running `make install`. If you want to remove program binaries and object files, type `make clean`. If you want to also remove the files created by `configure`, run `make distclean`.
While there is also a `make maintainer-clean` target, that is mainly for the package's developers.
