MAST is a software tool that enables audio streaming via RTP using IPv4 and IPv6 Multicast/Unicast.
MAST Project is a set of audio streaming tools that employs RTP over IPv4 and IPv6 Multicast/Unicast. Unlike VAT and RAT, which are primarily designed for audio conferencing, MAST is designed to be used for audio distribution and broadcast. It is important to note that at present, the tool is limited to receiving a single audio source. This is unlike RAT which can mix several sources.
MAST has the capability to support a range of audio payload types in the Audio-visual Profile (RTP/AVP). The software is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
To make use of MAST successfully, you should ensure that you have oRTP 0.13.1, Jack Audio Connection Kit 0.98.0 (recommended), and libsndfile 1.0.5 (recommended) installed.
In the latest release of MAST Project, support for live MPEG audio encoding has been added.
