I recently had the opportunity to try out the memcachefs project, and I must say, I was impressed. This FUSE-based filesystem allows you to mount your memcache server, thus enabling you to view your cache data like regular files. Here's what you need to get started:
Requirements:
- FUSE 2.5 or later
- libmemcache 1.4 or later
Usage:
1. Mount the memcached using the following commands:
% mkdir mnt
% ./memcachefs localhost:11211 ./mnt
2. Set a cache data using:
% echo "value" > ./mnt/key
3. Get a cache data using:
% cat ./mnt/key
4. List keys using:
% ls -l ./mnt
5. Delete a cache data using:
% rm ./mnt/key
6. Rename cache data using:
% mv ./mnt/key ./mnt/key.bak
7. Unmount using:
% fusermount -u ./mnt
