The mladmin software automatically discards Mailman's administrative approval messages, streamlining email processes.
The mladmin project simplifies the process of discarding messages held for administrative approval by Mailman mailing list manager. If you use Mailman, you probably receive a fair amount of spam on a daily basis. This can be as few as one, and up to ten messages per day. Manually sifting through and deleting these messages can be a pain. That's where mladmin comes in.
As the creator of this software, I got fed up with having to click on multiple checkboxes every time I logged in to discard unwanted messages. So, I created a script that would do it automatically. This software is especially useful for announcement lists, where there are no messages posted, meaning there is no danger of discarding a legitimate message.
Using this software is easy. By default, it lists messages for approval and proposes to discard them all, if any, with the most common action being to discard. However, if you use the second parameter, you can specify if you want to list, discard, or accept certain messages. Please note that once messages are discarded, they cannot be undeleted. That's why you should use the discard command carefully.
Some other supported options include --help and --version for self-explanatory information. There is also an option to use a password for administrative purposes. Furthermore, there is a function that allows you to specify the proxy to use.
One of the benefits of mladmin is that it supports cookie storing, which makes logging in easier. However, this option should only be used with care as storing Mailman cookies can be a security risk.
