The software solves two main tasks: The first task is a Basic Calculation, which calculates thermophysical properties at atmosphere pressure and the temperature of 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit). The results of this calculation can be used for hydraulic analysis of pipelines and equipment, such as storage, thermostating, transportation, mixing, spraying homogenisation of oil and its derivatives. Input data can include density and/or fractional composition of the substance, with the calculation being more precise when fractional composition is given. The program calculates various properties such as density (if not given), isobaric specific heat, thermal conductivity, kinematic viscosity, average saturated vapor pressure, surface tension, the Prandtl number, and pseudocritical temperature.
The second task is an Additional Calculation, which calculates the thermophysical properties of a substance in liquid and gas phases at given absolute pressure and temperature within the under-critical range. The results of this calculation can be used for process modeling and the design of equipment intended for processing of oil and its derivatives. The program can also be used for hydraulic and aerodynamic design of pipelines at steady and non-steady temperature, as well as to find out heat exchange process characteristics. In addition to temperature and pressure, input data can also include density and/or fractional composition, with calculation being more precise when fractional composition is given. The program calculates various properties such as the percentage of liquid and gas phases, density, isobaric heat, thermal conductivity, vaporisation enthalpy, kinematic viscosity, surface tension (for the liquid phase only), and the Prandtl number.
