Optimization Solver for OpenOffice.org Calc

The Optimization Solver is an essential software for any business needing to create and optimize a set of decision variables. This program is designed with the capability of maximizing or minimizing an objective function, along with satisfying a customized set of constraints determined by the user. However, there are a few Limitations to this software to be aware of. Firstly, the Optimization Solver currently only solves constrained linear models. An algorithm for non-linear models is being worked on. It is important to note that a constraint value must be a cell reference, as typing in a value will not work. Additionally, the Reset and Options buttons are not functional at this time. Lastly, it is assumed that the model is linear; the Optimization Solver does NOT solve non-linear models yet.

Recently, a new version has been released, including a Spanish translation contributed by Mario Alfredo Renderos. Overall, this version is identical to the previous release. The Optimization Solver continues to be an incredibly helpful software, capable of computing an optimized set of decision variables in a variety of different business scenarios.
