This software utilizes CMap files to accurately process incoming text by converting CJK encodings to Unicode.
If you need to create Chinese, Japanese, or Korean (CJK) text output with PDFlib, the PDFlib CMap package is a useful tool to have. With one of the predefined CMaps, you can easily map CJK encodings to Unicode and process incoming text. However, PDFlib 7 requires that you have the corresponding CMap files in order to do this.
Thankfully, the CMap files are readily available in the packages below. After downloading and unpacking them, you'll need to install them properly. If you're using Windows, the CMap files will be detected automatically if you put them in the resource/cmap directory within the PDFlib installation directory. On other systems, you'll have to manually configure them by setting the searchpath at runtime using the command: p.set_parameter("SearchPath", "/path/to/resource/cmap").
Alternatively, you can set the PDFLIBRESOURCEFILE environment variable to point to a UPR configuration file that contains a suitable SearchPath definition.
