This software provides an alternative to the robotparser module used in Python for parsing robot exclusion protocols. It is designed to provide improved performance and greater flexibility for website crawling and scraping tasks.

Python now supports POSIX Interprocess Communication (IPC) primitives including semaphores and shared memory, allowing for easier communication and synchronization between processes in operating systems that adhere to the POSIX standard.

Sysv_ipc is a software extension that allows access to System V IPC such as semaphores, shared memory and message queues. Compatible with most Unixes including OS X, and also possibly Windows+Cygwin 1.7. The extension comes with sample code and is released under the GPL.
