Quick Burn software instantly creates a CD of selected file(s) or folder(s), using the preferred disc name. Easy and efficient.
I recently used an action that utilizes the built-in Automator steps to burn a CD for selected files/folders. With this action, the selected file/folder gets burned using the disc name "CD". Although this theoretically works for DVDs, I haven't tested it yet. However, you can easily edit the action to change "CD" to "DVD" in the naming field.
This is quite a useful tool for quickie burns, and I must say that the resulting CDs are readable on PCs too. The best part is that none of the extra stuff such as .DS_Store and resource forks appear on the CDs.
If you want to explore this feature, make sure to install it as a "Finder Plugin" mode by double-clicking the included applescript. One must-have to use this action is an active Automator. Overall, I found this to be an incredible software feature with a clean output and a straightforward user interface.
