Ratio Shackle software is designed to determine pairs of numbers that have the same ratio as a given pair. The software generates all possible combinations of numbers with the same ratio as the input pair.
Ratio Shackle is a software widget that analyzes pairs of numbers and determines all other pairs that share the same ratio. This tool is particularly useful for maintaining aspect ratios in web, video, and image content. With Ratio Shackle, you can easily constrain proportions by inputting a pair of numbers, sliding a scrollbar to find whole-number variants of your ratio, or typing in a specific value for your desired proportions.
For example, let's say you have a 1200x1680 pixel image that needs to fit into a 400-pixel-wide column. By entering the numbers in the left boxes, Ratio Shackle will tell you that the ratio is 5x7. To see how the image will fit in the column, input 400 in the bottom right box to find that the image will be 285.714x400. If you prefer to work with whole numbers, simply slide the scroll bar to the closest alternative - in this case, it would be 285x399.
In the latest release of Ratio Shackle, the software has been updated to fix a bug that previously cleared fields when the return key was pressed.
