RCF Linux Firewall (rc.firewall) is a firewall software based on ipchains. It helps protect a system from unauthorized access and provides network security measures.
Version 5.2.1s1

Platform Linux
Supported Languages English

Developed by rcf Team
The rcf Linux Firewall, also known as rc.firewall, is a reliable and efficient firewall that is based on the ipchains system. This firewall provides support for over 50 network service modules such as DHCP, NFS, SMB, NAPSTER, proxies, online games, and vtun among others. It also includes features for masquerading, port forwarding, and IP accounting. These services are organized in self-contained modules that can be prioritized within the ipchains stack. The rcf firewall provides advanced security and protection against spoofing, stuffed routing/masquerading, DoS, smurf attacks, and outgoing port scans.

rcf firewall supports unlimited public, private (masqu'ed), DMZ, and MZ (non-masqu'ed) interfaces along with their respective subnets. Its access rules are well-defined per interface and dmz/mz server "clusters". Furthermore, the firewall is compatible with Red Hat, Slackware, Debian, Linux Router Project (LRP), and other distributions.

rcf Linux Firewall has received several updates, which include the contribution of 260-spop3-servers, 220-winvnc-servers, 620-arcserve-hosts, and netstorm (online game) modules. Additionally, the firewall has seen the resolution of several issues including a typo in 530-snmp-clients, fixed cluster handling in 030-pptp-clients and 030-pptp-servers, patched service_rules.sh to allow private IPs on DMZ interfaces, added missing rules that allow traffic from public interfaces to DMZ. It has also added the --refresh-interfaces command line option and fixed the jump rule problem which prevented private IPs from connecting to public interface IPs.

Overall, the rcf Linux Firewall is an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient solution for network security. Its numerous features and regular updates make it a top contender in the firewall market.
