RE:Map

RE:Map is a collection of five plugins that cater to different aspects of mapping and texture editing. There is RE:Map UV, which takes a UV map and uses it to render images without requiring users to go back to their 3D systems for re-rendering. With this plugin, users can easily clean up texture maps and remap them after they have been rendered. RE:Map UV even comes with a feature that lets users come up with 2D and 3D animated texture map templates that they can reuse with different image sequences.

Another plugin in this collection is the RE:Map Inverse UV, which takes a UV map and a color image that matches that UV map. It then inversely projects the color image to a rectangular image that can be used as a texture map for either RE:Map UV or 3D systems. The RE:Map Distort plugin automatically distorts images based on feature detection, giving images a caricature-like effect. And with RE:Map Displace, users can warp images using their own displacement maps. Compared to other displacement map filters, this plugin has more options and advanced filtering controls.

In addition to these plugins, RE:Map also has RE:Map Planar, which can map or inverse map a planar perspective space defined by four points. This feature provides better results than typical corner pinning and has high-quality filtering. Lastly, there is RE:Map Displace, which supports 16-bit per channel and has multiple passes for smearing and feedback effects. It also has both forward and inverse displacement filtering options.

The plugins support various software programs, including Adobe After Effects 5.0 and up, Apple Final Cut Pro 4.0 and up, Autodesk Combustion 2.1, and Boris Red 3.0. Some of the plugins require a 16-bit per channel or floating point support from the host application. The RE:Map collection also includes other advanced features, such as antialiased UV edges and high-quality filtering of images, which include supersampling and mipmapping.
