REMITT

REMITT is a cutting-edge electronic medical information translation and transmission system that offers a revolutionary solution for medical billing data preparation and submission. It operates autonomously, without requiring any specific electronic medical record (EMR) or practice management (PM) system, and connects seamlessly with any EMR or PM system via its application programming interface (API). The FreeMED system has been the first to implement the REMITT API.

At present, REMITT supports various formats, including HCFA-1500/CRM-1500 and ANSI NSF X12 837 Professional, and offers multiple output types, such as PDF document (with optional overlaying), PRN file, X12 message, FreeClaims.com, and GatewayEDI.com direct submissions.

The name REMITT is a recursive acronym. The latest version of REMITT comes with several new features, such as NPI support, improved queuing operations, and better FreeClaims and GatewayEDI logging. Additionally, it offers PID support for init scripts and fixes a race condition issue.
