Reverse HTTP Starter

This software is a program that connects to the URL of a text file and checks it for keywords at a specified interval. If a keyword is found, a corresponding batch or executable file is run locally on your computer. The purpose of this program is to allow the user to perform a certain task on a remote computer when desired.

To use this program, the user must have access to a web server where they can upload the text file. One example of where this program could prove useful is when using an application such as VNC. If the user's workplace is behind a firewall and they need to control their work PC from home, they will need to establish a 'reverse' connection for it to work. This means that the listening daemon runs on the user's home computer but the connection is initiated from the work PC.

Using 'Reverse HTTP Starter', the user can keep the program running in their system tray at work and have it periodically check their HTTP server for a marker. When it finds the keyword(s), it executes the batch file(s) that the user has specified, which in turn starts an SSH client for port tunnelling and the VNC Viewer. This allows the user to use their work computer from home, even though it is behind a corporate firewall.

RHS continues checking the URL at the specified intervals until the user stops it, allowing it to constantly be on the lookout for their desired signal. There are many other uses for this program as well, allowing the user to make their computer do just about anything they desire 'at will' by checking with their HTTP server available anywhere in the world.
