RSStool

RSStool is a versatile software designed to handle the reading, parsing, merging, and writing of RSS and Atom feeds. As I was intrigued by the growing popularity of RSS feeds, I created this powerful and easy-to-use tool that allows you to manipulate feeds with ease.

With RSStool, you can input a range of options to specify how to handle the input files, such as RSS or Atom feeds, including URLs or filenames. The software supports the latest versions of RSS (0.9x, 1.0, 2.0) and ATOM (0.1, 0.2, 0.3) feeds, which can be merged together and re-sorted as desired.

RSStool offers several useful options to customize the output formatting of the feeds. You can select to output the feeds as plain text or HTML, and you can also strip the HTML code from the output if desired. Furthermore, the output can be condensed into a single line or separated into multiple lines with the -1 option.

One of the most unique features of RSStool is the ability to work with custom tags which can be used to create HTML pages using dynamic content. This is achieved through the < rsstool: > tags which can replace specific content such as the URL, title, description, or date of a feed item. By using these tags, you can create dynamic webpages that are updated automatically with the latest feed data.

Finally, RSStool has a new release that includes the addition of the --php option to produce output as PHP code (Array ()). To use this option, you will need to have MySQL Client 4.1.x installed.
