I recently tried out the game, Sacred, and it was quite an adventure. The storyline follows the necromancer Shaddar, who is planning his triumphant return to the world of Ancaria. He summons a Sakkara Demon, one of the rulers of the undead, to strengthen his powers but the demon turns on him, escaping his fortress of Shaddar-Nur.
Meanwhile, the village of Bellevue is under attack by robbers and slave traders from the Sakkara Sect, who seek victims for their magic rituals. Additionally, the Kingdom faces infiltration from Goblins, precursors to the Orcs of Khorad-Nur. The heroes of the game, under the leadership of Sergeant Treville, must fight against these threats in lands bordering the Orcish wastelands.
As the Kingdom of the dying King Aarnum struggles to fend off the Goblins and Orcs, players are presented with an epic quest into the very gates of hell itself in the included game, Sacred: Underworld. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the engaging storyline and challenging gameplay.
