ScitePM

ScitePM is a remarkable project management software compatible with the SciTE editor. This software allows users to organize their files as a project, a feature comparable to most Integrated Development Environments (IDEs). Additionally, users can seamlessly open the organized files within SciTE with the help of SciTE Director. It's crucial to note that SciTE should be named "SciTE" or "scite" for proper communication with ScitePM. If not so on your system, one would need to create a symlink similar to this: ln -s /usr/local/bin/scite_exec_blah_blah ~/bin/scite, given that the system has SciTE in /usr/local/bin/scite_exec_blah_blah.

Using ScitePM is a breeze. Users can trigger "Open Project," "Save Project," or "Add Files" operations by clicking the corresponding buttons. To add files or groups, i.e., folders, one needs to right-click on the primary application pane. The software enables rearrangement within the application by merely dragging and dropping files and folders to the desired position. Double-click or select a file and press return/enter to open.

For successful launch, the SciTE executable must be named "SciTE." The syntax for ScitePM on the command line is straightforward with the following options: [-q|--quiet], [-v|--version], [-h|--help], and [project-path]. Quiet mode can be achieved by selecting "q" or "quiet," while "v" or "version" print the application version on stdout. The "h" choice displays the usage to stdout. Lastly, [project-path] represents the file path for the ScitePM project to load at startup.

This latest release features the activation of SciTE through the "_NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW" message to ewmh-compliant window management. ScitePM is lightweight and based on Gtk, making it perfect for anyone seeking a project manager that integrates flawlessly with SciTE editor.
