SDL Fungus

This software review covers a game that supports up to four players competing against each other by trying to surround and capture each other's fungus. Currently, the only game mode available is multiplayer on a single computer.

However, the developer plans to improve the game by cleaning up the code and making it free under the GNU GPL license. Afterward, the developer intends to add networked multiplayer and AI features. Additionally, there is a MacOS X port coming soon.

The game's controls are easy to grasp. To rotate the piece you want to place, press space. To skip your turn, press tab. If you want to bite, press control, and click on the fungus blocks you want to bite. After you've made your selection, press control again or space to cancel the bite.

The program uses SDL, and the developer welcomes feedback from players to improve the game. The game is still in development, and there are probably several bugs to iron out.
