SolidShare has a powerful and flexible rule-based packet filtering engine that allows you to create rules for various purposes such as permit outbound connection, permit inbound connection (publish your server), deny outbound connection, and deny inbound connection. You can set IP addresses and timing when the rules will be applied.
The software has a detailed event log with the firewall kernel writing events into log files that include firewall start/stop, rule addition/deletion/change, session creation/destroy, NAT mapping creation/destroy, packet pass/drop, etc. A report can be generated from the log files using SolidShare Analyzer, which parses the log files into human-readable texts, tables, and graphs, and this makes it easier to understand what's happening on your network.
