The Tecnoupman project is a software that functions as a manager and monitor for the UPS Tecnoware Adv. This UPS is only compatible with a proprietary cable and software supplied by Tecnoware (FIRENZE). Furthermore, attempting to manage the UPS directly from the PC via its RS-232 interface requires a significant amount of money. Unfortunately, Tecnoware (firenze) provides no customer support or technical information about their UPSes or the cables' pinouts, further complicating the process.
To use the manager/monitor, you need to compile the sources and connect the UPS to the Serial Port. Tupsmand is the core of the system, tasked with monitoring and managing the power and shutdown of the server/ups. After starting up the daemon with a command like revolution#tupsmand /etc/tupsmand.conf, Tupsmand will supervise all the parameters from the UPS. All parameters for the startup must be specified in the config file: tupsman.conf, in this format: DEBUGL=1.
