Tellu

The Tellu computer inspector is a software that gathers essential hardware and software information from large computer client networks. It stores this data in a MySQL database for easy access and organization.

This package is divided into three sub-packages; the Client, Server, and Skin. The Client and Server packages are paramount for Tellu to function correctly. The Client program collects information from the network, which is then sent to the server for storage in either a local or remote MySQL database. On the other hand, the Skin package is an optional interface focused on top of the database. While it isn't necessary for the software's performance, it is highly recommended if you want to get the most out of Tellu.

Furthermore, the Server package also contains a monitoring server, which collects data about the Tellu server. There is also a Motif-based client capable of monitoring server activity. It uses the monitoring server to read actual activity data, thus providing enhanced insight into the Tellu program.

In this release, several updates and improvements were made to the package. It now supports a compressed protocol in both the client and server, which boosts performance. The rush tolerance option delays the client from starting more than once within fifteen seconds, improving efficiency. Real-time resource usage collection now includes a process count, and newer hardware items are now collectible by the client. Lastly, an attachment browser was added to the skin, and other improvements were implemented to enhance the user interface. Overall, the latest version of Tellu is an efficient and reliable software package that helps gather essential information from massive computer client networks.
