Text Grabber

The Text Grabber XTensions module is a fantastic addition to QuarkXPress that allows users to easily select and modify text in a unique and efficient way. With this tool, there is no need to drag-select text the old-fashioned way, as Text Grabber lets you marquee a complete page area instead. This method of selection is especially helpful when needing to choose exactly which text to modify, even spanning multiple text boxes if necessary.

Using Text Grabber is a breeze. Simply select the Text Grabber tool from the QuarkXPress tool palette, and drag the marquee around any page area you wish to modify. The selected area remains conveniently marquee'd for easy reference and the operator is presented with a dialog similar to the XPress Character dialog. From here, any changes entered into the Text Grabber dialog will be applied to all text within the marquee'd area, regardless of which boxes contain the text.

Users have the ability to change any text attribute they desire with Text Grabber, from the font and size to the color, track amount, scale, and baseline shift. Additionally, it's even possible to load the text attributes associated with your favorite style sheet.

However, it's important to note that changes made to a document using the Text Grabber tool cannot be saved. To use Text Grabber, you must have QuarkXPress 4 or later.
