TimeMachineScheduler

Time Machine, a built-in feature introduced by Apple in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, is a very efficient backup solution. However, it comes with a downside: the backup interval is fixed to one hour, which might not be convenient for all users. The launchd daemon controls the automatic backup function, but changing the interval value in the launchd.plist file does not work.

During a backup, all control elements are disabled and actions are recorded into a log file (~/Library/Logs/TimeMachineScheduler.log).

TimeMachineScheduler works self-dependently in the background and doesn't need to run permanently. Users can revert to the original setting of Time Machine by uninstalling the software and enabling the automatic backup function in Time Machine's Preference Pane. The software also includes an "emergency" uninstaller in case of unforeseen circumstances.
