The urwcyr-tex software package provides TeX bindings for the URW Cyrillic fonts, facilitating their use in document preparation.
If you're looking for a set of TeX bindings for URW Cyrillic fonts, the urwcyr-tex package might be just what you need. It's important to note that this package doesn't actually contain the fonts themselves, so you'll need to download them separately (the primary FTP for these fonts is recommended).
One thing to keep in mind is that this package is mainly a receipt of how to install the cyrillized URW fonts to work with TeX, rather than a package that will do all the work for you in just one click. That being said, if you follow the steps outlined in the receipt, you should be up and running in no time.
To begin, simply unpack the package urwcyr01b.zip to a temporary directory, and place the fonts (.afm, .pfb) from URW collection into this directory. From here, you'll need to run the Perl scripts urwren.pl and urwtfm.pl (these scripts are quite primitive and can be easily transformed to any shell program, if you don't have Perl).
The script urwren.pl renames URW fonts (.afm and .pfb) into TeX convention (a010015l -> uagd8a, and so on), while the script urwtfm.pl produces .tfm files from .afm. Once you've completed these steps, move the directories doc, dvips, dvipdfm, fonts, tex to your TeX directory.
Be sure to add the line f urwpdf.map to the file /dvipdfm/config/config in your TeX directory, and either add the contents of urwcyr.map to psfonts.map in /dvips/config or add the line urwcyr.map to the extra_module section of updmap script and run it. Finally, don't forget to make TeX learn the new files (if you use MikTeX, then run /miktex/config/config.bat).
