The Vodovod Project is a free-to-play game that was released under the GNU GPL license, and it was created by Milan Babuškov who took care of both graphics and programming. Although it started as an over-weekend project, the game is still fully playable. Of course, it has some limitations for the time being.
The objective of the game is quite simple, to get the highest possible score. But, it is a bit complicated to achieve it. The game gives you a limited number of pipes for each level, and you need to combine them to guide water from the house located at the top of the screen to the storage tank that is situated at the bottom. Every pipe that water goes through is worth 20 points. If you can manage to fill the cross-pipe both ways, you'll get 60 points instead.
At the end of every level, your skills will determine your awards. In particular, depending on the skill level you choose, you could get a hundred points, a hundred points plus the amount of pipes remaining, or a hundred points with two times the number of pipes left. Furthermore, some of the levels have obstacles that prevent you from placing pipes easily.
The game is available and playable with joystick/joypad, and you can configure it easily by going to Options -> Configure Controls.
The latest release of Vodovod Project brings some exciting new features, including some sound effects and three quality music tunes that will give you an immersive and delightful gaming experience during play. Additionally, the game's level generator has been improved, offering more challenging and interesting stages after reaching level 6. Finally, the game won't consume 100% CPU during play, and the music and sound effects volume is adjustable from the options menu.
