VolgaDB Engine

The VolgaDB Engine is a powerful database engine designed for working with flat files in its own Volga format. It also supports multi-user functionality as a client-server engine for working with MSSQL, MySQL, MS Access, and dBASE databases without the need for BDE. The component package includes TVolgaTable, TVolgaQuery, TVolgaServQuery, TVolgaDatabase for Delphi (4,5,6,7), C++Builder (4,5,6), Kylix 3, and a VolgaDB Desktop utility for managing Volga files. Best of all, there are no need for register settings.

VolgaDB has lite($0), professional($25), and enterprise($45) editions. This software is an all-in-one solution that equips users with the tools they need to be efficient in data management. It provides fast native access to data without BDE, supporting most data types and autoinc fields, text descriptions for fields, and default values.

VolgaDB provides users with an array of features that make data management easier. Users can sort-on-the-fly, record range and filter, revert records, and perform automatic backup and saving operations. It also allows for temporary in-memory tables, cloning and batch move, and the ability to restructure tables in code. Password protection with ciphering is also an option.

Saving external objects in RecordData property for any record and saving any arbitrary text within the Volga table makes the software perfect for storing various forms of data. Data can be easily exported to text, DBF, XML, Excel files, and imported from text files.

TVolgaQuery executes SQL queries using source Volga tables on disk or already opened in memory, allowing for fast working with MS SQL, MySQL, Jet databases using cached updates. Users can edit, sort, range, master-detail, filter operations on the query result as a table. Callback events to visualization loading/saving process ensure efficient and effortless database management. The software also offers properties ReadOnly for the whole table and RecReadOnly for the current record for added convenience.
