War Extreme

War Extreme is a card game based on the popular ‘War’ game. The game starts with each player getting half of a shuffled deck of cards. For every hand, all players turn over the top card, with the player with the highest card (aces are high, jokers are higher) taking both cards and putting them on the bottom of the deck. The game ends when one player has the whole deck, leaving the other player shamefully defeated.

This game features idiotic statistics and phenomenal speed, as well as the ability to crudely benchmark your computer, surpassing the minimal feature set of the original ‘War’ game. However, War Extreme is not for the faint-hearted, as it requires an efficient endgame requirement that may leave half of your computer severely depressed. Players can avoid this by keeping War Extreme running at all times, giving the loser an opportunity to redeem themselves.

If both players turn up the same rank card, a war occurs. Here, both players place three cards face down and compare the fourth card from their deck face up. The winner takes all the cards, and multiple wars can occur, usually once per game. The ability of wars to quickly change the tide of the game adds to the excitement.

If one player doesn't have enough cards for the war, they place as many as possible face down, leaving one face up. If even after doing this there is still a tie, the winner is the player that is not out of cards. War Extreme is a must-try for those who appreciate a challenging and entertaining card game.
