Secure FTP Client Component securely transfers files over an internally encrypted SSH layer.
I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and was quite impressed with the functionality it provided. This software is designed to allow you to securely transfer files over any reliable data stream, and it accomplished that goal with ease. Specifically, SFTP is the standard file transfer protocol for use with the SSH2 protocol, which is where it really shines.
One of the standout features of SFTP is how easy it is to use. The wodSFTP component of the software implements the client-side of the protocol, and I found it both reliable and straightforward to navigate. Beyond just file transfer, SFTP is able to provide more general file system access on the remote server in a secure manner, which is great for businesses or users who place an emphasis on security.
One of the main benefits of SFTP is its assumption that it is running on a secure channel. This means that no plaintext passwords or file information is readable on the network, thus providing an extra layer of security for users transferring sensitive information. Additionally, wodSFTP supports most important PutFile (for file uploading), GetFile (for file downloading) methods, but also methods for creating directories on the server, deleting directories and files, list files in some directory etc.
