WMAMP is a dockable media player software intended for use with Window Maker. It allows users to play media files directly from the dock, making it easily accessible and convenient.
WMAMP is a media player designed specifically for the Window Maker dock. Its wmamp-applet feature has been created to implement the dockapp user interface for a generic media player. One of the most significant advantages of this media player is the fact that the user interface has been separated from the playing functions. This makes it extremely easy to write a new media-playing backend, while still sharing the common look and feel of the software as a whole.
The alphanumeric display and control panel make up the user interface. This display shows the playback position or time, playlist position or index, and title of the current track. Clicking on the time toggles between the time elapsed or remaining, so you can keep track of your music with ease.
The control panel features several VCR-style buttons, including a Pause/Play button, which enables users to pause and resume playback of the current track. If you want to resume playback from the exact location where you paused it earlier, all you need to do is click the Pause/Play button again. The Stop button stops playback of the current track, and clicking the Pause/Play button after stopping will resume playback from the beginning of the track.
Eject stops playback and terminates the current session. If you want to play the previous track in the playlist, simply click the Previous button. And if you want to skip all tracks by the same artist or album, right-click the Previous button. Similarly, if you want to play the next track in the playlist, simply click the Next button. And if you want to skip all tracks by the same artist or album, right-click the Next button.
The Backward button lets you set the playback position 15 seconds backward in the current track, while the Forward button sets the playback position 15 seconds forward. All in all, WMAMP has everything you need in a media player and more.
