WMisdnCID

WMisdnCID is a software that enables you to view the phone numbers of incoming and outgoing calls. The software reads the information from /dev/isdninfo. The installation process is simple and straightforward. As root, you are required to type certain commands into the command line, which are 'make' and 'make install'. If the first command does not work, you can try using xmkmf; make -f Makefile; make install. Alternatively, you can install the binary rpm package using the command 'rpm -i wmisdncid-1.2-1.i386.rpm'.

After installation, using wmisdncid is not complicated. The information displayed includes green and red lamps that indicate offline and incoming calls respectively, a yellow lamp indicating outgoing calls, and a blue one indicating the last two incoming calls where the upper one is the last and the lower one is the last but one. Additionally, a letter beside the lamps represents the call type. For instance, 'v' for voice, 'r' for raw, 'f' for fax, 'm' for modem, and 'n' for net. The software also displays other digits that represent the caller's or called phone number.

You can click the icon's displays to toggle between current and last-incoming calls. Running » wmisdncid --help « summarizes the command line options, such as -w for a withdrawn state that you can use with WindowMaker. Therefore, wmisdncid is an excellent tool for monitoring incoming and outgoing calls, and you cannot go wrong by using it.
