Yet Another Dungeon-game

I recently had the opportunity to try Yet Another Dungeon-game, a maze game with a twist. Not only does it offer a flexible, text-based map format, but it also has interface plugins that enhance the overall gameplay experience. I was impressed with what I found, so I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

First, let's talk about installation. Like most software, you need to run a few commands to get it up and running. For YAD, you simply need to enter "yad/ $ ./configure" and "yad/ $ make" in your terminal. Once that's done, you're ready to go. Well, almost. Before you run the game, you need to set an environment variable that points to the full path of the interface plugins. For example, if you're the developer, you would use "yad/ $ export YAD_MODULES="/home/dustin/c/yad/interface/.libs"." Then, navigate to the "src" folder and run "./yad" with a map file (currently, "neat.map" is the test map, but it links to "woot.map" and vice-versa). To run the game, simply enter "src/ $ ./yad neat.map" into the terminal.

Now, on to the good stuff: what's new in this release. The most significant change is the removal of the libltdl dependency from the configure script. This change will make YAD faster and more efficient than ever before. Additionally, the game now features a more user-friendly interface, making it easier for players to navigate the game's maze-like levels without getting lost.

Overall, I was impressed with Yet Another Dungeon-game. If you're looking for a fun, text-based game with a unique twist, this is definitely worth a try. The interface plugins make navigation a breeze, and the ever-changing maze-like levels provide plenty of challenges to keep you entertained for hours.
