Zoot is a software tool designed for writers, researchers, and journalists to streamline their writing and research tasks. It simplifies the process of gathering and categorizing raw data for easy retrieval later.

With Zoot, users can directly send information from any Windows application to a Zoot database without the need for copy and paste. Additionally, when working with a web browser, Zoot captures the URL for easy access at a later date. Information sent to a Zoot database can be manipulated in various ways. Users can assign multiple folders or allow Zoot to automatically assign folders based on rules, add reference notes, assign a due date and set reminders, prioritize, color code, categorize and enhance with several built-in database fields. Users can even create their own custom database fields.
Zoot also provides a more flexible and rapid way of managing Microsoft Outlook data. If users are struggling to manage high volumes of incoming information streams from various sources such as e-mails, web pages, newsgroups and RSS feeds, Zoot can come in handy. Zoot synchronizes with any Outlook folder type including Tasks, Contacts, Notes, and Mail, among others. Users get to choose which Outlook folders to manage with Zoot and only synchronize those selected folders.
Processing information as it comes in is the key to managing information overload effectively. Zoot was designed from scratch to help users process information quickly as it arrives, allowing them to take advantage of the information in due time.
