67-80-85, the openCPU

I recently came across the openCPU project and had the opportunity to test out its simulation of a simple and efficient open CPU called 67-80-85. As an individual who has spent a considerable amount of time delving into the intricacies of CPUs, I was excited to implement this milestone of a simulation that I had previously had in my mind.

The 67-80-85 CPU is a combination of various inspirations, with the ultimate goal of implementing a straightforward and high-performance CPU capable of performing all the functions you would expect from a modern CPU.

While the potential of this CPU is significant, certain points still need to be addressed for it to be a success. Specifically, it is essential to ensure that the CPU is supported by the GNU C compiler and that logging command use sequences of compiled C/Linux programs are analyzed to optimize the code, if necessary.

Additionally, the simulator must be adapted to run on exclusive PC hardware to operate a ported Linux distribution, compiled without printf's for verbose mode, to minimize its size. Furthermore, it is necessary to create an FPGA 678085 prototype, with microkernel routines supporting additional commands such as rotate bit-wise and 128-bit fp-op's.

Overall, I believe that the 67-80-85 openCPU project presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about CPUs to experiment with a fresh and innovative approach to CPU design. There is still work to be done, but the core foundation of this CPU is strong, making it worth exploring further.
