Account Reset Console

I have been using Lieberman Software's Account Reset Console, a powerful software that provides a delegated and fully audited system for resetting domain account passwords or account flags through any web browser. It has helped my Help Desk team to manage one of the most common requests from users who have forgotten their passwords and need quick reset assistance.

The program is perfect for organizations that require a simple yet secure way to perform this activity without sacrificing compliance with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC, and/or HIPAA. It utilizes our domain group memberships to control which members of the Help Desk team have access to the application and which user groups each of them can manage.

One of the many features I find convenient is the ability to configure the program to automatically reset disabled accounts, unlock locked accounts, and set changed accounts to require users to change their passwords upon next logon. Additionally, all program logins, logouts, and account resets are stored in either our local relational database or in a central Microsoft SQL Server database, which can be accessed by program administrators to view the audit trail of program usage.
