"Allow HTML Temporary" is a Thunderbird extension enabling temporary activation of HTML for selected email messages. The extension empowers email users to choose when they view emails as plain text or HTML, safeguarding their security against phishing attacks in HTML emails.
I recently tested the Thunderbird extension called Allow HTML Temporary and found it to be a useful addition to my email workflow. With just one click, I’m able to enable/allow HTML temporarily within a selected email. This allows me to view email messages in their intended format without having to change any settings within Thunderbird.
What’s more, switching to another message automatically shows it in plaintext or simple HTML mode (if that’s your default mode). I no longer have to switch back and forth between plaintext and HTML - this extension does it all for me!
The only requirement for using this extension is having Thunderbird 1.0 - 2.0.0.* installed.
In terms of recent updates, this extension now supports Seamonkey and has added submenu items such as "reply", "reply all", "forward", "printpreview" and "print..." by default. These items now load HTML and perform their intended functions seamlessly.
I also appreciate the keyboard shortcuts that have been added, such as SHIFT+click and STRG+click for the button and relevant submenu functions. STRG+click the button loads HTML and remote content. SHIFT+click submenu items reply/reply all/forward compose in HTML mode (and vice versa - same behaviour as standard compose button).
Finally, STRG+SHIFT+click submenu items reply/reply all/forward compose in HTML mode (and vice versa - same behaviour as standard compose button) and load remote content. If you STRG+click submenu items print.../printpreview, you can print/printpreview with remote content. Overall, I highly recommend this extension for a smooth, streamlined email experience.
