Animated Beginning Typing teaches young typists proper typing technique for letter keys using sound effects and animation to make learning enjoyable. Help is available as needed.

The software consists of three games: Jumping Letters, Letter Drill, and Flying Letters. Jumping Letters is perfect for young students and can be played at any pace. Each correctly typed letter is rewarded with an animated "critter" chosen by the pupil. When ten letters are completed, the child gets a silly cartoon. And the game also has context-sensitive help to ensure success.
Letter Drill is a game that allows students to choose between 20 and 120 letters to practice. The software generates a report after the practice, showing words per minute, errors, and time. When the last letter in the sequence is removed in a silly way by a "critter", the pupil is rewarded with a cartoon.
Lastly, Flying Letters is an arcade-style game for advanced typists, and its speed is determined by the player. The speed of the game can also be changed at any time during the game. The software generates a report at the end of the game, and a funny animation is displayed.
All three games allow the student to choose a group of letters, such as home keys or practice all 26 letters. The animation in the program is achieved using stop-motion animation, as well as other techniques, making the experience of learning to type a fun and engaging one.
